Laurie and her husband recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary. Together they raised two sons and now enjoy time with their two grandchildren.
Her husband, originally from Venezuela and a United States citizen since 2016, gave Papasito his name. "Papasito" means "the little man of the house," which perfectly fit the dog who inspired her first book.
